Sometimes the Rules allow for a project submission to be a pre-existing project from before the start of the hackathon, but many times the Rules will require the project to be developed during the hackathon. The Rules haven't been posted just yet, so it is unclear if building a solution before the hackathon begins is going to be allowed.
What you can do is study-up on the newest AI Agentic Ops features Splunk has to offer so that you're prepared with the skills you need to build something once the hackathon starts. There is a Splunk AI blog post by Rinita Datta that appears relevant to this hackathon:
